FIFA has analysed the 2023 summer transfer window.

The analysis includes transfers from 1 June to 1 September. In total, clubs spent $7.36 billion, a new record. This amount is 47.2% higher than the summer transfer window of 2022, and 26.8% higher than the previous record in 2019.

England topped the spending rankings with $1.98 billion. Germany, with $1.11 billion, was first in the list of countries that earned the most. For the first time in history, clubs from the same association received more than $1 billion in the summer transfer window alone.

Saudi Arabia ranked second in terms of spending with a total of $875.4 million, ahead of France ($859.7 million), Germany ($762.4 million), Italy ($711.0 million) and Spain ($405.6 million). For the first time, clubs from the Asian Football Confederation accounted for more than 10% of the total transfer spend.

For the first time in history, more than 10,000 transfers were made - 10,125 transfers during the summer of 2023.
