Former Germany striker Rudy Völler has critically reacted to the team's 1-4 defeat in a friendly match against Japan.

"We are all shocked. Losing 1-4 is a disgrace. Was it a fluke? We all have to evaluate ourselves and then see what happens next.
Now we can't slip up. We are Germany. No one should be afraid on Tuesday. All the guys play in the top clubs, they can get a result," Sport Bild quoted Völler as saying.
In their next friendly match, the German national team will meet France. The match will take place on 12 September.
