There is a scandal in Italian football. Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba passed a positive test for doping.
Traces of testosterone (a banned steroid hormone) were found in the analyses of the 30-year-old footballer. Positive for Pogba was the test, which he took on 20 August after the match of the 1st round of the Italian championship with "Udinese". Interestingly, the Frenchman in this meeting did not even go on the field.
Now Pogba will have to pass a counter-analysis. If he gives a positive result, the footballer will face disqualification for a period of one to four years.
In the meantime, the Italian National Anti-Doping Court has suspended Pogba from football, which has already been officially confirmed by Juventus on their club website. "The club will consider how to proceed in the next stages of the process," the Turin side also said in a statement.
