The brother of Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk, Serhiy, died on 7 September as a result of a mine-blast injury near the village of Novoyehorivka, Luhansk Oblast,SuspilneTV reports.

Sergei had the rank of junior sergeant. He was born in 1989.

"My dear, the war is over for you...

It is painful and scary for me to realise that you left, but you left as a hero. You raised me! You were always my support! You have always been there for me in good times and bad! And you will be there forever!

I love you, sleep well! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes," Dmytro Riznyk wrote to his brother on Instagram.
