Barcelona and Germany goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has expressed his opinion on the criticism of Catalan head coach Xavi related to his abandonment of the Blue and Gold's signature style of play.
"This is complete nonsense. Any philosophy has to evolve. When Xavi was playing, the quality of the Blue and Gold squad was much higher than their competitors. Since then, everything has become more balanced, especially in terms of fitness. That's why we have to find solutions now that are different from those we had then. From the very beginning of his stay at the club, Javi tried to get us to have some stability, which was extremely important for the team," Mundo Deportivo quoted Ter Stegen as saying.
