Former Chelsea London defender Glen Johnson has revealed what he thinks of his former team's Ukrainian midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk, who moved here last winter from Shakhtar Donetsk for €100m but has yet to prove himself (zero goals and two assists without a firm place in the starting line-up).

"I think Mudryk needs to be much more aggressive if he intends to improve his level of performances. It's not about physical conditioning, it's about him utilising his playing qualities more effectively.

Mudryk can beat any defenceman. But sometimes I think he plays against his qualities. If you're so fast, you should always try to play one-on-one with someone or do something productive. Then the fans will support you too. And when that happens, Mudryk may be able to gain some confidence and hopefully be able to notch a few more goals and assists.

I believe the time will come for Mudrick. Everyone is talking about him every week now and I feel sorry for him, because it's not easy when you go to a big club and with such high expectations from the fans. I believe Mudrick has the qualities to make a difference but he has to hurry," Johnson is quoted as saying by ggrecon.
