The new head coach of the second-tier Zvyagel Serhii Shyshchenko commented on his decision to take charge of the team. It will be recalled that the 47-year-old's last job was with Polissia U-19.
- Of course, it was not easy for me to make the decision. For about a year, my colleagues from Polissia and I were assembling a new U-19 team. It was a difficult stage, but we managed to create a capable team.
I will also say that the president of Polissia Hennadii Butkevych asked me to take over Zvyagel. He always supports me.
I still think that my future career will be connected with Zhytomyr football. And Zvyagel is a new challenge for me. I am interested in returning to coaching in adult football. The club faces serious challenges, and we will develop and move forward together.
We have good players, most of whom played at Polissia. Under Yuriy Maksymov (the previous coach of Zvyagel - ed.), the team showed good results. The goal for Zvyagel is to reach the First League, and we will try to achieve it.
Will Maksymov manage to resuscitate Dnipro-1? Judging by his coaching career, he has always been able to do it. I hope he will succeed this time. I wish Maximov only success at Dnipro-1," Shishchenko said.
