The matches of the 7th round of the Ukrainian championship season-2023/24 took place this weekend. And on Monday, September 18, the tour programme was closed by the meeting between Dynamo Kyiv and Poltava Vorskla. The match took place in Kyiv at the Dynamo stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskiy.

"Dynamo started this match very actively, and already on the 4th minute of the match managed to open the score - it was Vanat in the central zone who effectively played a touch with a heel to Voloshyn, the latter on a spurt outpaced the opponents, broke into the penalty area and, being almost one-on-one with Isenko, sent the ball into the net - 1:0. Moreover, in the opening period of the game Kyiv had several quite good shots, the most dangerous of which was struck by Dubinchak - in this case the ball flew under the crossbar, but Isenko managed to save Vorskla.
Later Dynamo continued to play an active attacking game, and in the 16th minute of the match Vanat was obliged to increase the score, but, without any interference, he shot from 10 metres and missed the target. And on 20 minutes, the Bilo-Syni managed to send the ball into the net for the second time: Dubinchak performed a diagonal cross, Bilovar, who joined the attack, crossed to Vanat and the latter managed to strike a devastating blow. The head referee pointed to the centre of the pitch, but the VAR system detected offside and the goal was disallowed.
For the rest of the first half, Dynamo continued to hold the advantage, but the former efficiency in attack was no longer evident in the actions of Lucescu's team. Moreover, from about the 35th minute Vorskla noticeably improved their ball control and started attacking as well. As a result, the teams went into the break with the score 1-0 on the scoreboard.
Both teams started the second half actively. Vorskla was the first to create a goal: on 54 minutes of the match Kane shot from the penalty area of Kyiv and the ball hit the bar. "Dynamo responded to it with Vanat's shot from the left side of the penalty area, which was handled by Isenko.
Further on the field there was a relatively equal struggle without much urgency. But on the 73rd minute another goal moment was created by Dynamo: Kabaev, having received a pass in Poltava's half of the pitch, took the game on himself, broke into the penalty area, effectively "took away" Pavlyuk on a swing and made a technical rounding shot to the far corner, but the ball treacherously hit the bar. However, 10 minutes later Dynamo still achieved success: Buyalskiy with an excellent pass brought Benito to the operational space from the centre circle, the latter at speed pushed Pavlyuk away from the ball, in the penalty area beat Isenko, who came out of the gate, and coolly struck an empty net - 2:0. That was the scoreline of the match.
After seven rounds of the championship Dynamo has 9 points (with four matches played) and occupies the 7th place in the championship standings, 8 points behind the leading Shakhtar.
In the next, round 8, Dynamo will play a guest match with the UPL debutant Cherkasy LNZ, which will take place next Saturday, 23 September, in Cherkasy at the stadium "Cherkasy-Arena" (kick-off - at 13:00).
