The newly minted captain of Dynamo Kyiv, Vitaliy Buyalsky, shared his impressions of the 2-0 victory over Vorskla in the 7th round of the Ukrainian championship, which took place yesterday in the capital.

- The game was quite difficult. Vorskla has individually strong players who are able to take advantage of any moment. That's why we tried to play as compactly as possible to prevent our opponents from creating these chances.
- Did Vorskla surprise you with anything on the pitch or were you well prepared for everything?
- In principle, I was not particularly surprised by anything. The only thing was that we slightly miscalculated Vorskla's line-up, because we thought that Yurchenko would play in the position below the striker. And when we arrived at the stadium, we saw that he was not on the list. In general, we fulfilled what we had agreed with the head coach.
- You are now the new captain of Dynamo. How did you get elected, how did the election go?
- There were no elections as such, I was simply handed the captain's armband in the dressing room. Yarmolenko said that I should be captain, and the whole team supported it. Now I am the captain on the football field, and Andriy is the captain in the dressing room.
- What exactly do you see as your captaincy functions? How should this be reflected on the pitch?
- First of all, I have to take more responsibility. Somewhere I need to play cooler, somewhere I need to hold the ball when necessary, somewhere I need to give my teammates a hint, in other words, I need to keep the team in good shape.
- Doesn't the head coach give any instructions or tips to the players through you?
- No, you know that when he shouts at one of the players, everyone can hear him. When the match is played without spectators, they will definitely hear him.
- Today is your 300th match for Dynamo in all competitions, and congratulations! Did you know about this before the game?
- No, I didn't. I once said in an interview that I don't read football news on the Internet during the competitive season. I can only read it during my holidays, in the off-season.
- But this figure is really impressive. Do you remember your debut or any other memorable matches?
- Yes, I remember all the matches in principle. Now I would like to rewind time. I remember just coming to Dynamo Kyiv, and here I am already 30 years old, and I have to think about what will happen after my football career. In another seven or eight years, my career will come to an end.
- This season is definitely not the time to think about it, because you have an important task to complete - to win the championship?
- Of course! In general, we are moving from match to match and now we will prepare for the next opponent - LNZ. We are not thinking about anything else for now. Every game should be played as if it were the last, as if it were the final game.
