Manchester City defeated FC Crvena Zvezda in the UEFA Champions League at the Etihad Stadium with a stunning comeback in the second half. At half-time the score was 0-1 in favour of Red Star, but Manchester City turned the tide and went on to win 3-1. The match started tensely, with both teams showing their determination to trouble their opponents. In the 24th minute, Manchester City's Rodri received a yellow card, setting a warning tone for his team. Shortly afterwards, M. Rodic of FC Red Star also received a yellow card in the 32nd minute. Towards the end of the first half, Manchester City made their first substitution: in the 44th minute, B. Silva replaced J. Doku. However, just before the break FC Red Star managed to get back on track thanks to O. Bukari's goal in the 45th minute. However, Manchester City wasted no time and equalised two minutes after the start of the second half. In the 47th minute, J. Alvarez scored a goal, levelling things up and giving Manchester City hope back. In the 56th minute, Manchester City's R. Diaz received a yellow card, which exacerbated the struggle between the teams. Soon Manchester City made a second substitution: in the 58th minute S. Gomez replaced M. A. Gomez. Gomez replaced M. Akanji.

Just two minutes later, Manchester City took the lead for the first time in the match. On 60 minutes, J. Alvarez scored his second goal, giving the team a much-needed lead. FC Red Star tried to regain control of the situation by making two substitutions in the 68th minute: K. Ndiaye replaced J. Ndiaye. Ndiaye replaced J. Crasso and M. Ivanic came on in place of P. Olajinka. However, their efforts failed as Manchester City increased their lead in the 73rd minute through a Rodri goal. In the 77th minute, Red Star made a third substitution - S. Mitrovic replaced V. Lucic, trying to turn the game in their favour. However, Manchester City continued to defend confidently. In the 82nd minute, Crvena Zvezda player M. Stamenic received a yellow card, increasing the pressure on his team. In response, Crvena Zvezda made two more substitutions: K. Kangwa was replaced by Hwang In Beom and O. Bukari was replaced by M. Degenek. Manchester City also made three late substitutions in the 83rd minute. Rodri was replaced by K. Phillips, P. Foden came on in place of O. Bobb, and R. Diaz came on in place of R. Lewis. As a result, the final whistle blew and Manchester City celebrated a hard-fought victory over Red Star. A hard-fought second-half performance allowed them to take the lead back and secure three crucial points in the UEFA Champions League.
