Arsenal London striker Gabriel Jesus spoke about his involvement in the transfer of Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Zinchenko to his current club from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.

"Edu (Arsenal's technical director - ed.) informed me that he was going to visit Zinchenko and suggested that I talk to Alex beforehand on the subject of his possible transfer to Arsenal. I agreed. Our conversation with Zinchenko really took place. I remember how surprised he was by my visit.
I told him then: "Zina, you have to make the same decision as me (Jesús moved from Manchester City to Arsenal also in the summer of 2022, shortly before Zinchenko's similar transfer - ed.). I am happy with this move." He thought for a while and replied, "I don't know, I need to talk to my wife about it first." But in the end he made the decision to move to Arsenal. I think if you ask him about it, he will say he made the right decision then.
If I helped Zinchenko a little bit to make the decision to move to Arsenal, I am happy because I like him both as a footballer and as a person. I treat him like a brother and I am very happy that he came to our team. He plays well and always tries to give the team more than he can. I am happy for him," said Jesús.
