On 20 September, the match of the 1st round of the Champions League in Group D between Benfica and RB Salzburg took place. The game ended in a 0:2 defeat for the Eagles.
Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin was in the starting line-up. In the 3rd minute of the meeting the Ukrainian unsuccessfully played on the way out, hitting the opponent in the head with his fists, for which he received a yellow card. A penalty was awarded to the goal of the Portuguese club, but Karim Konate did not take the chance and shot above the goal.
In the 15th minute, the referee again awarded an 11-metre penalty for the Austrian team. This time the guests managed to score - Roko Šimić beat Trubin.
Some Benfica fans were not satisfied with the game of the Ukrainian. Fans want to see Samuel Soares in the goal of their favourite team, who has been a regular starter at the start of the season. However, many fans on Twitter stood in defence of the Ukrainian and condemned those who booed Trubin during the match.
