Both teams made substitutions to freshen up the line-ups and energise the game. In the 65th minute Marseille got I. Ndiaye and G. Kon. Ndiaye and G. Kondogbia, and Ajax's B. Tahirovic and S. Vos. Vos.
As time went on, Marseille's attack again bore fruit: on 78 minutes P. Aubameyang scored his second goal of the evening. With the score tied at 3-3, both teams were relentlessly going forward in search of a winner. In the 79th minute, Marseille made two more substitutions, bringing on J. Correa and L. Balerdi.
