Both teams made substitutions to freshen up the line-ups and energise the game. In the 65th minute Marseille got I. Ndiaye and G. Kon. Ndiaye and G. Kondogbia, and Ajax's B. Tahirovic and S. Vos. Vos.
As time went on, Marseille's attack again bore fruit: on 78 minutes P. Aubameyang scored his second goal of the evening.
