Myroslav Stupar, a well-known referee in the past, assessed the refereeing in the match of the 8th round of the Ukrainian championship LNZ - Dynamo (2:4) in a commentary to 1927.kiev.ua.
- "Dynamo is either tuning up or giving up. It scores when it's a bit "hot". As for the penalty on Karavayev, the player must control his hands, especially when the ball bounces off the ground. Karavayev did not appeal himself. Judging by the replay that was shown after the game, the penalty was awarded correctly. From the replays we saw during the match, it was probably impossible to tell. Especially the last replay of this episode during the game - it would have been better not to show it at all.
As for the work of the VAR, we can say that this technology was used at certain moments somewhere and unnecessarily. They were checking to see if something was missing. They need to watch the game more closely and use VAR only when absolutely necessary. It's not clear what they were watching when Dynamo scored the fourth goal... Still, if VAR is available at all matches, there will be fewer complaints about the refereeing. Dmytro Panchyshyn did a satisfactory job in this game," Myroslav Ivanovych noted.
