This caution showed the growing frustration of the Bochum players as they tried to contain Bayern's onslaught. In the 29th minute, Bayern, relentless in their pursuit of a goal, scored again. This time it was Matthijs de Ligt who scored, and VfL Bochum were forced to save the day. Bayern Munich showed great teamwork and accurate passing, putting their opponents in a stalemate. Close to the break, Bochum made two substitutions in a desperate attempt to change their position. Felix Passlak and Maximilian Wittek were introduced in the 36th minute in the hope of energising the team.

Sane showed his individual talent by dribbling past several defenders and unleashing a powerful shot on goal. Both teams made strategic substitutions in the second half. In the 46th minute, Bayern replaced Mattis de Ligt with Dayot Upamecano, while VfL Bochum brought in Christian Gamboa to replace the suspended Anthony Losilla. In the 54th minute, Bayern were awarded a penalty when Harry Kane fouled in the box. The English striker took the lead and converted the penalty to further increase his team's advantage. In the 65th minute, Bayern made two more substitutions: Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting replaced Michael Cuisance and Alphonso Davies replaced Fiete Arpa.
