Union Berlin continued to push forward in an attempt to equalise, but the Heidenheim defence prevented them from realising their chances. As time wore on, Union made a number of more substitutions to bring more energy into the game. In the 74th minute, L. Bonucci, R. Gosens and D. D. Fofana were introduced into the game, while in the 77th minute, A. Kralj received a yellow card for a flagrant foul.
In the 78th minute, L. Tusart came on for Union Berlin and tried to increase the pressure. FC Heidenheim, on the other hand, looked to maintain their advantage and made a number of substitutions to keep control of the game. In the 81st minute, M. Piringer was replaced by D. Tomall. Thomall. Then, in the 90th minute, N. Theuerkauf, E. Dinci and J. Beste were replaced by T. Keller, F. Pick and S. Schimmer respectively. Despite Union Berlin's best efforts in the final minutes of the match, Heidenheim's defence proved impenetrable. The final whistle blew and the scoreboard read 1-0 in favour of FC Heidenheim. This hard-fought victory was very important for FC Heidenheim as it helped them move up the Bundesliga standings. Excellent teamwork and solid defence ensured the team's triumphant exit. Union Berlin, on the other hand, will regret their missed opportunities, but can take solace in their strong play throughout the match. Both teams showed their skill and determination, making the match interesting for all who attended or watched from home. As the Bundesliga season progresses, FC Heidenheim will be looking to build on this win and continue their climb up the standings, while Union Berlin will be looking to bounce back in their next match.
