Roberto Morales, a well-known Ukrainian journalist and commentator, shared his expectations for Shakhtar Donetsk's second Champions League match against Antwerp.
- To be honest, this match is interesting for us only because of the presence of a representative of Ukraine. In general, both teams are in a depressed state. For example, Antwerp has not scored in its last four matches, three of which ended 0-0. In total, they have five draws in nine league matches.
In the opening round of the Champions League group stage, Mark van Bommel's men failed to put Barcelona to the test, conceding five goals away from home and scoring nothing themselves. This result hardly surprised anyone. Antwerp is the most dominant team in Belgium, with total control of the ball.
"Shakhtar failed in the match against Porto, and the defeat in the opening round was not only disappointing in terms of the scoreline, but also in terms of the content of the game (1-3). As a result, leaving the quartet, which was previously considered an extremely difficult task, now looks like a ghost. Therefore, if the Shakhtar want to continue playing in the continent's main tournament, they need to get the maximum number of points from Antwerp. The 1-2 defeat to Vorskla somehow does not give confidence in this scenario. The team looks physically tired.
The bet is on goals from both opponents," Morales said.
