FIFA is considering the possibility of restoring Russia's participation in international competitions. This was reported by the British TV channel Sky News.
According to the source, FIFA is studying the option of lifting the complete ban on Russia's participation in international competitions. The idea came up after UEFA's decision to allow the Russian U-17 national team to play international matches.
The final decision is expected to be made today at a meeting of the FIFA Council.
As a reminder, since February 2022, after the start of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, FIFA and UEFA have banned all Russian national teams and clubs from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organisations.
