Argentina forward Lionel Messi has decided where he will finish his career, but it will not be in Miami or Barcelona.
Lionel Messi, Getty ImagesThe forward's current contract with Inter Miami expires in June 2025, after which, according to El Nacional, he plans to return to his childhood club Newell's Old Boys in his native Argentina. Messi's contract with Inter has an option to extend it for another year, but Lionel wants to finish his career in his homeland.
Messi left Barcelona in 2021 after more than two decades at the club, having joined the Spanish giants from Newell's Old Boys at the age of 13.
