Sports doctor Dmytro Babeliuk, known for his work with Rukh Lviv, commented on the news of the injury to Dynamo Kyiv's captain, Andriy Yarmolenko.
"The second injury in two months for Yarmolenko. Last time it was the medial ligament of the knee joint. This is an injury that recurs very often and requires a lot of time and attention to fully heal. However, a few weeks after the injury, Yarmolenko played 57 minutes against Italy and then played regularly for the club.
It is not yet known what the nature of Andriy's injury is, but I would venture to guess that the knee and medial ligament have given way again. Time will tell whether this has resulted in a knee injury, muscle injury or calf injury. I hope that the club or the national team will inform us of the details. Minus Tsygankov, Yarmolenko and possibly Mudryk a week before the international matches. We are waiting for official data and will analyse it," Babeliuk wrote on Telegram.
