This weekend the matches of the 10th round of the Ukrainian championship of the season-2023/2024 will take place. On Friday, 6 October, the round was opened by the match between Zhytomyr Polesie and Dynamo Kyiv.

The match, as expected, started with the attacks of Kyiv, who are now on a good run in the UPL. Not surprisingly, the Bilo-Syni managed to open the scoring already in the 4th minute of the game. After a beautiful long pass into the Polesya penalty area, Voloshin got the ball, the midfielder decided to heel pass back - to free Buyalskyy, who accurately shot low on goal - 0:1. It seemed that the quickly scored goal would only ease the task of Dynamo, but the hosts managed to equalise the numbers on the scoreboard quite quickly: Krushinsky decided to take a long-range shot from twenty metres - Buschan reacted to this "shot", but the ball still flew into the gate from the goalkeeper's hands - 1:1.
Towards the middle of the first half, the game became tougher, with a lot of fouls and yellow cards. This was especially true for the hosts, who played very rough in the tackling. And it was Kalitvintsev's men who continued to create chances. First, Buschan saved Dynamo after Makuan's shot from an acute angle, and in the added time of the first half he pulled the forward's shot after a one-on-one. Nevertheless, all the most interesting for the spectators remained for the second half.
After the break, Dynamo quickly managed to take the lead again. Morozko fouled Vanata in his own penalty area and the head referee Vitaly Romanov, after watching the video replay, awarded a penalty. Buyalskyi clearly realised the shot from the spot, although Boyko guessed where the Kyiv captain would shoot - 1:2! Our team got an even bigger advantage a few minutes later, when the second yellow card was earned by the same Morozko, fouled on the flank.
And after that moment something inexplicable happened... "Polesie" managed to equalise the score in the 64th minute in the minority! After a corner kick, Budkovskiy took advantage of the chaos in the Dynamo penalty area and managed to shoot from a few metres - the ball caught Brazhko and flew into the goal - 2:2! But the real shock for the Bilo-Syni fans came next. Five minutes later, another chaos in the visitors' penalty area led to a missed goal - Artem Kozak took the ball and shot low into the far corner - 3:2!
Lucescu's team had more than twenty minutes to save this match and get the victory, but Zhytomyr team defended very organised with ten men, not allowing the Bilo-Syni to even the score! As a result, Polesya won sensationally with the score 3:2. Yuriy Kalitvintsev's team showed a great will to win.
We would like to remind you that Dynamo will play their next match in the Ukrainian Championship after the national team matches. On the 21st of October our club will host Dnipro-1 in Kyiv.
