Review of the match Strasbourg - Nantes:
In an exciting Ligue 1 match, Strasbourg hosted Nantes at the Stade de la Mainau. The match ended 1-2 in favour of Nantes, but from start to finish it was a tense battle. In the first half of the match both teams could not get out of an equal position. In the 25th minute, Strasbourg player J. Mwanga received a yellow card, and in the 33rd minute another yellow card was given to F. Gilbert. The defence of both sides remained adamant, and the score remained 0-0 at the break. The second half was an active struggle. The first breakthrough "Nantes" occurred in the 50th minute, when M. Koko sent the ball into the net, providing his team with a decisive advantage. This forced Strasbourg to make a substitution: in the 56th minute F. Gilbert replaced D. Bakwa. In the 57th minute "Nantes" increased its advantage, scoring a sensational goal by S. Moutoussamy.
Strasbourg tried to get back into the game and in the 68th minute made a triple substitution: H. Diarra, M.S. Dion and I. Sissoko, trying to turn the tide of the match in their favour. Despite Strasbourg's efforts, Nantes held firm in defence and made their own substitutions to consolidate their advantage. In the 76th minute, R. Pierre-Gabriel replaced M. Koko, who scored. Coco. Strasbourg's frustration grew as L. Perrin received a yellow card in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute Nantes made the last substitution, releasing M. Ablin, P. Chirivella and C. Merlin to finish the match. However, Strasbourg did not give up and managed to get back into the game in the 90th minute. Despite the late goal, Strasbourg were unable to equalise and Nantes claimed a deserved 2-1 victory. The match was a confirmation of the competitive nature of French football, both teams gave their best on the pitch.
