Former forward and head coach of the Ukrainian national team Andriy Shevchenko commented on UEFA's decision to refuse to allow terrorist teams to return to civilised competitions.

"I welcome UEFA's decision not to consider the admission of Russian U-17 football teams to international tournaments. The age category is irrelevant in the matter of global justice.

This is a small but important step. I thank everyone involved in the negotiations. We continue to defend Ukraine's interests in the international arena," Shevchenko wrote on Facebook.
