Serbia defeated Montenegro in European Championship qualifying match The football match between Serbia and Montenegro was a long-awaited event in the European Championship qualification. The game was played at the Rajko Mitic Stadium and the teams showed their skill and determination throughout the game, leading to an exciting match that ended 3-1 in favour of Serbia. The first half started with both teams showing their skills in attack. Serbia took the lead as early as the 9th minute when Aleksandar Mitrovic scored a brilliant goal to give his team an early lead. However, Montenegro showed resilience and fought back: in the 31st minute Andrija Vukcevic came on as a substitute for Risto Radunovic. The Montenegrins' determination paid off as Stevan Jovetic scored in the 36th minute, levelling the score to 1-1 before the break. The teams took a breather at halftime, making the necessary tactical adjustments to gain an advantage in the second half. At the start of the second half, Serbia made two substitutions in the 46th minute, with Ivan Ilic and Filip Mladenovic replacing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Filip Kostic respectively. These personnel changes energised the Serbian team and they quickly regained control of the game. In the 49th minute, Nemanja Gudel received a yellow card, putting his team in danger of a possible disciplinary penalty.
Montenegrin Savo Savic also received a caution in the 59th minute, indicating the intensity of the game. As the game progressed, Serbia continued to dominate and in the 73rd minute, Aleksandar Mitrovic scored his second goal of the match, giving his team a solid lead. Montenegro tried to respond with a second substitution, bringing on Dejan Kamaj instead of Vladimir Jovovic. Serbia sealed their victory in the 77th minute when Dusan Tadic hit the net, further increasing their lead and giving them a comfortable lead. The Serbian team showed their skill and teamwork and the Montenegrins struggled to get back into the game. In the final stages of the match, both teams made additional substitutions to introduce fresh energy and tactics into the game. Mladen Tucci and Marko Jankovic came on for the Montenegrins in the 85th minute, followed by Emil Kuč in the 88th minute, who desperately tried to salvage a result. It was too late, however, as the Montenegrin players were yellow-carded in the final minutes of the tense encounter. Serbia also made one last substitution: Andrija Zivkovic replaced Sasha Babic in the 90th minute. When the final whistle blew, Serbia had won 3-1. The game showed the determination and skill of both teams, but it was Serbia who prevailed and secured an important victory in their European Championship qualifying campaign. This victory undoubtedly boosted the morale of the Serbian team as they move towards their goal of qualifying for the tournament.
