Former Shakhtar head coach Patrick van Leeuwen did not have the best relations with some players.
The Dutch specialist did not find common ground with the team leaders - Taras Stepanenko, Georgiy Sudakov and Yaroslav Rakitskiy.
The conflict was because the leaders did not like the coach's attitude to the players, the loss of the status of the main player Artem Bondarenko, as well as the condescending attitude of van Leeuwen to the players who came to the club under his patronage.
It is noted that van Leeuwen had a similar situation at Maccabi Tel Aviv, where the coach had a conflict with the players, after which the atmosphere in the team was spoilt.
