On 19 October, former Dynamo Kyiv midfielder and former coach Oleksandr Khatskevych celebrates his 50th birthday. UEFA honorary member Hryhoriy Surkis congratulated the hero of the day.
Dear Oleksandr Mykolayovych!
Let me congratulate you on your bright 50th birthday and sincerely wish you happiness, health, prosperity and career success!
Once upon a time, your hard work and outstanding talent attracted the attention of the coaches of the Ukrainian football grande dame, Dynamo Kyiv. Under the leadership of the great Valeriy Lobanovskiy, you became an important performer in a star team that dominated the Ukrainian championship and was feared by the giants of European football.
Fans remember you well as an unwavering, tough, yet technical and sharp all-rounder who always put the team's success above his own ambitions. And the new generations of Dynamo players have gained a qualified and flexible mentor in you. I am glad that I had the opportunity to observe your thoughtful and fruitful work at the headquarters of the national team of Ukraine, with Dynamo teams at different levels, and, of course, at the head of the main team of the White and Blues. I am sure that your main coaching successes are still ahead!
I am especially grateful for your warm attitude towards Ukraine, which has long since become your second home. Your conscious public position is very important for the football community of our country, which is currently in the midst of terrible events.
I wish you and your family peace, harmony and love. May you have good luck and never run out of faith in yourself!
Sincerely yours,
Grigory SURKIS
