"Al Hilal could receive substantial compensation from FIFA after the Brazilian striker suffered a horrific injury during a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uruguay.
Neymar, Getty ImagesAl-Hilal is reported to be able to apply to FIFA's Club Protection Programme, which provides teams with payments if their players are injured during national team games held on dates set by the international match calendar for the period up to 31 July next year and are unable to take to the field for more than 28 days.
The programme provides for payments of €7.5 million for each injured player. This amount will be paid throughout the year, with €20,548 being transferred to the club's account every day.
As a reminder, Neymar suffered cruciate ligament damage and tore his meniscus.
