Former Ukraine midfielder Yevhen Levchenko commented on the appointment of Dario Srna as acting head coach of Shakhtar Donetsk.
"If Shakhtar play a phenomenal match against Barcelona in the Champions League under Srna's leadership, and the team as a whole plays with inspiration and shows good football, then perhaps he will be given the opportunity to continue working at the club. But I still think that Srna is a temporary option, and in two or three weeks a new head coach will be announced.
The specialist who will replace Srna must have a 100% understanding of Ukrainian football and its realities. He must understand how to raise Shakhtar's level to a higher level. It is difficult to find such a specialist now.
There are also talented coaches in Ukraine, but not many of them. Personally, I would like to see Ruslan Rotan in the best conditions, but in the situation with Shakhtar, I think this is an unrealistic option," Levchenko said on the Football Time YouTube channel.
