The English Premier League is bringing back a well-known form of protest against various forms of discrimination: all English league matches will once again begin with players on the pitch briefly taking a knee.

This action was organised for the first time in 2020 as part of the Black Lives Matter campaign, which was launched in the United States after the murder of John Floyd as a result of police violence in Minneapolis. The manifesto existed for several years, after which clubs gradually stopped participating, arguing that kneeling down would not achieve anything.
