As the half progressed, Burnley struggled to find their rhythm and their frustration showed in the form of a series of yellow cards. In the 32nd minute S. Berge was warned, in the 42nd minute - C. Roberts, in the 45th minute - J. Cullen. Just before the break, Brentford player K. Iyer received a yellow card. The second half started with the same moment as the first, and "Brentford" showed its superiority on the field. In the 62nd minute, Brentford's B. Mbeumo increased the lead by getting the ball into the opponent's goal. In the 66th minute Burnley tried to get back on track by making a substitution. V. Odobert came on in place of L. Koleosho, and M. Trezor Ndaishimiye replaced J. Bruun Larsen. Bruun Larsen. However, their efforts were in vain as Brentford continued to control the game.

Goddos sealed the victory by adding a third goal to his tally. In the final minutes of the game, tensions rose as Brentford players V. Janelt and S. Goddos received yellow cards. Goddos received yellow cards in the 85th and 90th minutes respectively. Both teams battled until the final whistle, but it was Brentford who came out deserved winners with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Burnley. This result proves Brentford's growing popularity in the Premier League, emphasising their ability to compete with established rivals.
