Every day gives the world a few famous people who closely linked their lives with football.
Taras Mykhalik (1983) is a former Volyn centre-back. He was born in the village of Lubeshov in Volyn region. Taras played in such clubs as CSKA (Kyiv), Zakarpattya (Uzhgorod) and Dynamo (Kyiv). He is a two-time champion and winner of the Ukrainian Cup. In the national team of Ukraine 34 matches, he did not score any goals.
Volodymyr Onishchenko (1949) - a former football player who played as a striker. He was born in Kyiv region, namely in the village of Stechanka, which after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was de-registered as a settlement. He spent almost his entire career in Kyiv "Dynamo", except for the period from 1971 to 1973, when Vladimir played for Lugansk "Zarya". In the USSR national team he played 36 matches, scored 8 goals. After the end of his football career Onishchenko actively engaged in coaching. Until recently he was an assistant to Mykhailo Fomenko in the coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team.
Garrincha (1933-1983) was a famous Brazilian footballer who played as a striker. He was a two-time world champion who only once played abroad, and that in the Colombian club Atletico Junior. Garrincha was known around the world not only as an excellent striker, but also for the fact that he had a congenital physical defect: one leg of the footballer was shorter than the other by several centimetres, which perfectly helped on the field deceptive feint to get away from the opponent's defence. Garrincha died at the age of 49.
