The French magazine France Football, which hosts the Ballon d'Or ceremony, was openly embarrassed by yesterday's ceremony.

During the awarding ceremony for the Norwegian forward of Manchester City, Erling Holland, the legendary England forward Gary Lineker took to the stage.

The official Twitter page of the Ballon d'Or presented him as the winner of the award in 1986. However, everyone knows that the Ballon d'Or was actually won that year by the famous Dynamo footballer Igor Belanov.

Interestingly, France Football has not yet reacted to this embarrassment.
