On Friday evening, after the match against Shakhtar at the Dynamo Stadium, Mircea Lucescu announced that he was resigning as the club's head coach. The next morning, the club's president Ihor Surkis introduced Oleksandr Shovkovskyi, who had been Mircea Lucescu's assistant, to the team as acting head coach.
We would like to remind you that Oleksandr Volodymyrovych, who joined Dynamo's coaching staff at the beginning of the year, already had experience in managing the team when he temporarily acted as the head coach at the end of last season while Mircea Lucescu was on medical leave. However, it was still Lucescu who led the process then, and from now on, it will be Oleksandr Shovkovskyi.
After the morning presentation, during which the president, coaching staff and players thanked Mircea Lucescu, the team went to the first training session under the new coach.
The players were divided into two groups - those who played the day before received less workload, and the training session was purely recreational. The second group worked hard in the rain.
Dynamo will play their next match next Sunday, 12 November. The Kyiv team will travel to Kryvyi Rih to face the league leader, Kryvbas.
