The game started at a tense pace, and it didn't take Bayern long to shake up the hosts. Already in the 4th minute, the Dortmund defence was stunned when Bayern newcomer Dayot Upamecano gave his team their first lead with a shot from the penalty spot. The goal ignited the visitors' attack, and just five minutes later, Harry Kane increased Bayern's lead with another good strike. Despite their best efforts, Borussia Dortmund could not find their footing in the game. Frustration grew as Borussia received one yellow card after another, with Leroy Sane and Thomas Tuchel being cautioned in the 22nd and 42nd minutes respectively. Bayern's solid defence, led by Upamecano, thwarted all threats from Dortmund and they were unable to respond. At the start of the second half, Dortmund made three substitutions in a row in an attempt to turn the tide of the match. Marius Wolff was replaced by Niklas Süle, then Sinan Ozkan and Donyell Malen made way for Florian Nmeha and Karim Adeyemi.
However, Bayern made their move as well, replacing Upamecano with Alex Pavlovic in the 60th minute. Just after the hour mark, Dortmund's Mats Hummels found himself in the referee's book, receiving a yellow card, and the team's frustration began to boil over. Bayern continued to exploit Dortmund's vulnerabilities and in the 72nd minute, Harry Kane scored his second goal of the match. This goal further demoralised the home side, who now led by an insurmountable 4-0 margin. In the remaining minutes, Jake Ryerson and Marcel Sabitzer received yellow cards, further adding to the Dortmund team's frustration. In the 79th minute, the team made one last substitution, replacing Niklas Fullkrug with Sebastian Haller. At the end of the game, Bayern player Kylian Leimer was also cautioned. At the end of the match, Bayern once again showed their superiority. In the final minutes of the match, Bayern hit the opponent's goal for the fourth time thanks to an effective shot by Harry Kane. This goal was decisive in Bayern's 4-0 victory, leaving Borussia Dortmund disappointed and reflecting on their performance.
