Bournemouth's Ukrainian centre-back Ilya Zabarny spoke about working with Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu at Dynamo Kyiv.
- Do you remember how Mircea Lucescu found you, how he invited you to the centre-back?
- Yes, Mircea did a lot for me. He saw something in me that can be useful for modern football. He took me under his wing and started to make remarks to me like a father to his son. Where and what I do, where I should improve. I remember how he scolded me a lot for my mistakes in defence, because a central defender must be reliable and make as few mistakes as possible. I will remember it for the rest of my life.
It was under the leadership of Mircea Lucescu that Ilya became a player of the main Dynamo squad. We shall remind you that recently the 78-year-old specialist left the capital club and announced the end of his coaching career.
