Benjamin Verbich wrote this little song about Denys Garmash after he won the Ukrainian Super Cup in Odesa. Garmash scored the decisive goal. The teammates in the locker room sang "Garmash is on fire". Nowadays, Denys is far from being on fire.

Since the autumn of this year, Garmash has been defending the colours of Croatian side Osijek. The Ukrainian's new club had a great start to the season. Garmash was supposed to be one of the players who would add class to the team and help them compete for prizes this season. From the very beginning, after the transfer, Denys had a stable playing practice. However, Osiek went on a long series of bad matches and slipped down the standings.

Garmash last played in the league more than a month ago - on 30 September. When Osijek lost away to Slaven Belupo. Not only does the Ukrainian midfielder not have the status of a main player for Osijek, but he has even ceased to be a rotation player.

It looks like the experienced Ukrainian is not being counted on by Osijek coach Zoran Zekic. The thing is that Zekic took over the team in early October, when Osijek's business was not going well and the team was in crisis. Not only the head coach Ivan Thomas lost his position, but also the sport director Ivica Kulisevic. Garmash's creativity is their job. Now a new sports director and coaches have come in. They have their own view of the players.

I would not be surprised if Harmash repeats the fate of Bohdan Mykhailychenko. The former Dynamo and Shakhtar player was invited to Zagreb by one coach, Igor Bishchan, but he had to work with Serej Jakovic, who has his own view of the players and came in the middle of the season. Bohdan was not part of his plans... If I were Mykhailichenko, I would have waited a bit, because Yakarovych's own business is not going well.

Garmash has a contract until the end of the season with an option to extend it for another year on the club's part. I will be surprised if the Croatian club tries to terminate cooperation with Denis this winter. Everything is very simple here: a foreigner must be a head above local players. If he doesn't meet this level, doesn't win the competition, then they simply try to remove him from the team. Especially if you have a big salary. Denis didn't really stand out against Osijek. The club is not poor (Hungarian investors), but the money will count.
