Inter Miami striker Lionel Messi could become the first footballer in history to receive a €1bn contract, according to journalist Guillaume Balague.

However, the Argentine never seriously considered the offer and signed a contract with Inter Miami in the summer transfer window.
It should be added that Messi's current deal with Inter Miami runs until 2025.
