Newcastle head coach Eddie Gau commented on the 0-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage match on Matchday 4.

"We were close to success today. At our best, even with so few players, we were good enough to win here. We have to take collective responsibility for this. We will try to win the last two matches.

The players gave so much on Saturday, so I have no doubt in them. I just think that the game against Borussia happened too quickly. After what the players have shown in recent weeks, maybe we could use an extra day of rest," Gau was quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.
