Austrian LASKA centre-back Maksym Taloverov shared his emotions about his debut call-up to the Ukrainian national team with the UPL TV telegram channel.
- I am very, even insanely happy, because this is the dream of every child and I am no exception. My dream and goal was to get into the first team. But I don't pay much attention to it now, because we have two very important matches coming up for LASK - in the Europa League and in the league, and we need to win both.
I learned the news, rejoiced for a few hours and then continued to work and focus on the matches, because there is no time to relax. Especially since the national team's match against Italy is also extremely important. I continue to work as I have been doing and believe that everything will be as it should be.
- How did you find out about the call-up to the national team?
- Just last night, the manager of the first team wrote to me and we talked. Later, the head of the U-21 team and several other members of the staff wrote.
- Have you talked to Serhii Rebrov?
- We met in Prague at a charity match between the veterans of the national teams of Ukraine and the Czech Republic. But we didn't talk about football. We just asked each other how things were going. But I'm sure we will talk in the near future.
- Who was the first to share the news of your call-up to the national team?
- My girlfriend was the first to find out, because we were together when I got the text. Then my parents and close friends.
- What do you think was the main factor behind your call-up?
- I think this question is somewhat not for me. I always try to do my best, but the coaching staff makes the decision. My task is always to give 100% and I am very happy that I had the opportunity to go to the national team.
