The Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis decided to sack Rudi Garcia after an unimpressive four-month period in charge. De Laurentiis had considered sacking Garcia earlier this season, and his priority was Conte, who ultimately turned down the job because he didn't want to take over the team without pre-season preparation.

According to Il Mattino, Mazzarri signed a seven-month contract with Napoli. Until the end of the 2023/24 season, the Neapolitans will continue to negotiate with Conte to convince him to lead the team from the new season.
