Tomorrow, November 17, the youth national team of Ukraine will play its next match in the Euro 2025 (U-21) qualifying tournament - against Luxembourg. On the eve of the match with the Luxembourgers, the head coach of the youth national team of Ukraine Unai Melgosa answered the questions of the UAF press service.
- Are there any personnel issues before the November matches? Is everyone healthy?
- Most of the players are fine. Only Bragaru has some problems with his leg after the weekend match. We'll see how he feels over the next few days.
- What conclusions have you drawn after our team's first match against Luxembourg?
- Given the score, 3-0, it may seem like it was an easy game. But it was not. We have to learn from our mistakes and respect this team. Respect means being prepared and focusing on your own qualities and needs.
- Based on the video, what impression did the Azerbaijani team make in previous matches?
- I think the Azerbaijani team showed two faces. Sometimes they defended very low and played through long passes. At other times, it was noticeable that this team is able to combine and has several young talents with good individual qualities.
Just like with Luxembourg, with Azerbaijan we need to take care of our own preparation. We all have to understand that our performance depends on ourselves. We have to do all the work, both on and off the pitch.
- With nine points in the bag, can we say that we have set ourselves a specific goal of finishing first in the group?
- At the moment, we have to focus on the process, on how we do certain things, on our own training. When attention is diverted to other things, problems begin to arise.
