Italy head coach Luciano Spalletti commented on the victory over the national team of Northern Macedonia (5:2) in the match of the qualifying cycle of Euro 2024, which took place yesterday in Rome.
"We played well throughout the match. At the same time, we got into a typical situation today when you think the result is already achieved and you relax a bit. This happened when the score was 3-0 in our favour. When we got two goals back in this situation, this situation could have confused us psychologically, but the team reacted well to such changes.
We showed our best behaviour after the break. I liked our second half better than the first half. When the score became 3-2, I expected trouble for us, but instead the boys transformed their game and could make the final result even bigger," Spalletti said at the post-match press conference.
