The England forward continues to recover from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, which he suffered in the last round of the last Serie A draw against Spezia. "Villa have renewed their previous requests and now insist on continuing negotiations with Roma to get more information about a potential transfer of the 26-year-old.

Abraham is unlikely to recover from his injury before next spring, but the Birmingham club wants to make an attempt to sign the player in January.
