Interesting details of the appointment of the refereeing team for the Euro 2024 qualifying match between the national teams of Ukraine and Italy have become known.

According to the Zorya Londonsk telegram channel, UEFA has appointed Spaniard Juan Martinez Manuera as the chief VAR referee for yesterday's Ukraine vs Italy match. Interestingly, this referee also worked on the VAR system in the decisive World Cup qualifying match between Wales and Ukraine in 2022.

It will be recalled that there was also a scandalous episode when the head referee Antonio Laos did not award an obvious penalty to the British for a defender's foul on Yarmolenko in his own penalty area. As a result, Wales won that match 1-0. Then, too, the video assistant referee ignored the rule violation.
