On 21 March 2024, the national football team of Ukraine will play a play-off match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Euro 2024 qualifying round. Former Ukrainian national team player Vasyl Kobin assessed the chances of the opponents in this semi-final of the B path.
"I always stick to the point of view that before the match starts, the opponents' chances are 50-50. I agree that the Ukrainian national team has a more balanced squad, there are leaders in each team who defend the colours of clubs from the top championships, the players have considerable international experience, a qualified coach.
On the other hand, the match will take place on the opponent's field, will have a cup format, and there are laws here, not always the more famous one wins.
I think that Serhiy Rebrov, the manager of the Ukrainian national team, knows this, will calculate everything well and make sure that its "trump cards" outweigh. Moreover, our guys have a positive balance of face-to-face meetings with the Bosnians," Kobin said.
