Dmytro Babeliuk, a sports doctor known for his work at Rukh Lviv, spoke about the problems of Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Mykola Shaparenko amid interest from Italian side Inter Milan.

"I constantly emphasise that serious injuries can affect the transfer fate of players.

The story of Shaparenko, who was on fire and interested in Inter right before he tore his ACL in the game against Fenerbahce (the beginning of the 2022/23 season - ed.), is indicative. And in this case, Inter refuses to transfer Mykola for two reasons:

- the player will not be available right now;

- it is not known how he will return after recovery and how much his injury frequency will increase.

But history proves that such decisions make sense. Mykola has been struggling to get into a game rhythm after a year-long recovery. First, he suffered a tendon injury, and now he has another unknown injury (most likely a muscle injury) that prevented him from playing against Rukh.

Breaking crosses always means accepting a challenge. You don't know how your body will react, what injuries you will suffer, and what the situation will be like in general.

You can, like Dovbyk, ignore the stress, or you can, like Shapa, search for a rhythm for a long time and suffer from injuries.

The top clubs choose not to play such lotteries," Babeliuk wrote on his Telegram channel.
