In the battle for Ukraine, its freedom, integrity and independence, a brave defender, true patriot, professional footballer and player of FC Borysfen, a soldier of a separate automobile brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 43-year-old Oleksandr Honchar, died in Zaporizhzhia region, remaining faithful to his military oath.
Oleksandr Honchar was born in the village of Shchaslyve, Boryspil region, and was a pupil of Boryspil football. His first professional club was Borysfen, for which he made his debut in 1997 and was a member of the Boryspil team's first team.
Oleksandr Honchar (or Mukha, as he was also known) played for many other Ukrainian football teams: "Prykarpattia, Vorskla, Metalist, Zorya, Niva (Ternopil) and others. He twice became a silver medallist in the First League.
After completing his sports career, he began to engage in private entrepreneurship. In March 2023, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On 16 August 2023, the Hero's life was cut short in the Zaporizhzhia direction... He was faithful to his military oath and the Ukrainian people until his last breath.
