Lionel Messi will not appear in TV shows featuring Jamie Carragher

Inter Milan striker Lionel Messi has turned down an offer to take part in a CBS Sports TV show dedicated to the Champions League.

The programme's host Kate Abdo said that Messi refused to make a cameo appearance in the CBS Sports studio, citing the presence of Jamie Carragher as the reason for his decision.

"We officially invited one of the Inter Miami players to come on the show. Do you know what the official response was? Can I voice it? Apparently, Lionel Messi will not be appearing on television shows featuring Jamie Carragher," Goal quoted Abdo as saying.

CBS was very interested in having Messi on the show, given his influence on American football after joining Inter Miami.
