The match took place in Lviv at the Sokil Stadium and started with a several-hour delay. At first, the stadium staff were clearing the pitch of snow, and then an air alert was declared in the Lviv region, as well as throughout Ukraine.
When the match did start, Dynamo took the initiative. But the opponent was able to impose a fight and did not allow Ihor Kostiuk's team to have much space in their own territory. Among the White and Blues' chances, we can only recall Kremchanin's blocked shot and Salenko's header, after which the ball flew near the post. At the opposite goal, Surkis once had to come into play after Bokal's shot, while Yurii Mykhailov lacked accuracy.
During the break, the coaches of both teams made adjustments to the game, and chances began to arise regularly at both goals. Ponomarenko shot into the goalkeeper's hands, to which the hosts responded with a dangerous shot by Dovbetskyi, after which Surkis saved the White and Blues. Ponomarenko continued to look for his moment, but Matviy was unlucky. In one of the episodes, the striker scored, but the referee cancelled the goal because of offside, and a little later the Zakarpattia goalkeeper pulled the ball out from under the crossbar after a "cannon" by the White and Blues' top scorer.
However, in the 70th minute, the forward still achieved his goal. After Kremchanin's pass on the left flank, the ball came to Ponomarenko, and he scored exactly in the corner of the goal - 0: 1.
Unfortunately, Dynamo kept the lead for only a few minutes. Soon after, the hosts earned a free kick, a cross was sent into the penalty area, and Kyrychok headed it straight at the goal - 1-1.
Dynamo increased the pressure on the opponents' goal. In particular, the referees disallowed another goal by Ponomarenko because of another offside, and Kremchanin failed to beat the goalkeeper, who had pulled the ball out of the corner.
It was also restless near Dynamo's goal. In one of the episodes, Surkis parried a dangerous shot by Yuriy Mykhailiv, and Dovbetskyi hit the goalkeeper's hands from 17 metres out. It is worth noting that before that, the White and Blues were left in the minority - Osipenko, disrupting the opponent's attack on our goal, broke the rules and was sent off the field.
Instead, even with one less player, Dynamo could count on a victory, but Ponomarenko was unlucky again - after his cross, the ball went into the net, but the crossbar saved the hosts.
As a result, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. "Dynamo continues to lead the standings, only one point ahead of second-placed Dnipro-1. Third-placed Shakhtar have two points less and two games in hand.
