Barcelona responded with the first two substitutions in the 77th minute: Rafinha replaced L. Yamal and Joao Felix replaced F. Torres. In the final part of the match, the tension increased, which led to a series of yellow cards. F. Torres was cautioned in the 78th minute, while R. Araujo was cautioned in the 79th minute. Xavi also received a yellow card in the 82nd minute, adding to Barcelona's list of cautions. They were joined in the 88th minute by J. Cancelo, who received a yellow card, adding to Barcelona's frustration. With only minutes left to the end of the match, Barcelona made their last substitution in the 89th minute: Pedri replaced F.
